About Vom Riesen Rottweilers
Vom Riesen Rottweilers was started out of a passion for large breed rottweilers. I enjoy their company. To me dog breeding is a passion. I spend alot time with my family. By this I mean my dogs. They are my family. They deserve to be treated with respect and adoration. They will never be raised in a kennel environment. I am sorry but my dogs live inside the house with me. If my females come into heat I do not put them together with males. My females play with my males. I let them make the choice if they want to breed or not. The choice is not mine to make. All liters are rasied in the house.
All dogs are walked 4-5 times a week. I only use a body harness no choke collars. My walks are on the average anywhere from 1.5-2 miles. They love the walks. I walk two at a time. They have noses like bloodhounds. Sometimes they pull me into ditches, you talk about some trouble. A couple of times they dragged me in the grass.
The diet of Vom Riesen Rottweilers: The dogs do not get by-products in their diet; their diet is all-natural.
Dry Food: Nutro Natural Choice Large Breed Puppy Lamb & Rice for puppies as the constant and majority of diet. For adults they are on the Large Breed Adult formula.
Wet Food: Nutro Natural Choice Large Breed Puppy. The large breed adult formula.
Supplements & Vitamins: NuVet Plus Vitamins (quite possibly the best supplement around) this supplement is given daily. It's ingredients are human grade and this supplement combats a multitude of issues that affecct my pets such as allergies, tumors, hot spots, immune system problems & much more. To order a bottle for your dog or cat my order code# is 5032640 www.nuvet.com or 1-800-474-7044 whether you order by phone or through the internet you need this order# 5032640.
Prevention can be found at www.joshuakennels.com in the Bulldog store and is known for producing enough collagen in the joints for my dogs and puppies; they recieve this daily (since dogs along with cats and humans do not produce enough collagen for their joints) As an extra precaution I give my dogs Linatone Plus for extra health in skin and coat.
NuJoint Plus is a natural anti-inflammatory hip and joint therapy, formulated with the finest pharmaceutical, human grade ingredients.Major considerations in formulating NuJoint Plus were the pharmaceutical grade quality of ingredients and their healing values, as well as the bio digestibility and utilization into the cellular framework. NuJoint Plus has been formulated by leading Veterinarians and Scientist to contain precise percentages of Glucosamine, Chondroitin, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) and Vitamin C which will help to quickly and effectively reverse and heal the devastating effects of osteoarthritis.
You can use the same order number above that is being used for NuVet Plus Vitamins.
As everyone knows there is not one kind of dog food that gives your friend all the nutrition he/she will ever need. I want to make sure my friends (dogs) are well taken care that is why I always give them a variety of supplements. They deserve all the respect and TLC (Tender Loving Care) you can give them.
Cooked Foods: Boiled chicken, meat loaf, stew, butter, peanut butter, cottage cheese, milk, vegetables, fruit, table scraps, garlic, cheese, soups, and anything else. We Do Not feed grapes or raisins they are toxic to dogs causing kidney failure, and no chocolate.
Raw Foods: Chicken, Beef, fish, est. We do not feed bones unless they are ground whole bones have caused the death of many dogs, while bones are the most nutritious part of the animal we do not risk feeding them whole; if it’s not ground we don’t feed it to them.
The Puppies:
My Puppies are started on wet Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy which has DHA in it for building brain cells for a smarter more trainable puppy, they are also fed Nutro Natural choice large breed puppy mixed (small bites)with Nutro Natural Choice large breed puppy lamb & rice formula with DHA. Along with this they also get cooked meals & the same supplements as the adults. I also start potty training them for you in the house they learn to go on newspapers and if parvo is not a concern we’ll introduce them to eliminating outside as well as on the papers. The puppies are raised in my home where they learn not to chew on furniture and learn manners & so they have human interaction all the time. We also do early neurological stimulation exercises with the puppies. Unlike most breeders we take our puppies to the vet to get there vaccinations, this way we make sure that they all get a detailed check up. Not only do they get a check up it is also a great way to socialize, they all get to take a ride in the car (close to a 20 minute drive because we will only settle for the best vet around, my two vets Dr. Richard L. Hovis & Dr. Loveless from Dickson Animal Hospital), they are in a totally unfamiliar setting, and get handled by at least two people who are strangers to them, then they get to go back home, they always have fun at the vet and this also makes it easier on you and your new puppy when you take your pup to the vet.
In Regards to Breeding for Size in the Roman Type
My dogs are kept at a comfortable weight, they are never overweight. They are athletic, muscular, & cover ground quickly and some are very capable jumpers and climbers. Achilles my male is much faster than the shorter rotts leaving them in the dust. Some breeders who breed larger sized rottweilers tend to pay attention only to weight, while substance is very important in a breed it should not be solely concentrated on. In regards to size I look for height first and not so much the weight but that the dog is neither skinny nor obese, but a nice agile/muscular look and that the dog is able to be athletic and quick. Oversized or not these dogs should be able to work not to be lazy couch potatoes, (given that a taller rott would not be as great a cattle herder as a standard rott for the simple fact that they are in range of kicking hooves), while there are very stocky dogs who are very agile. If we are to breed for weight the producing dogs should show free movement and athleticism. It is important to anyone's breeding program if they are breeding a working breed to breed dogs who show athletic capabilities.
